The project featured patients from Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Some Voices Choir, Tom Malone of Gogglebox and was sign-conducted by Fletch and her BSL choir. Using dance, music, and British Sign Language (BSL), we told a medley of Christmas carols in a unique and inclusive way.
As a choreographer, I was keen to make sure that the performance was fully inclusive and accessible to everyone. I incorporated BSL into the choreography to create a beautiful fusion of dance and sign language. The performers, choir, and sign language performers all brought their unique talents and energy to the project, making it a truly collaborative effort.
Our efforts were recognized by the media, with ITV News and BBC News interviewing me live to discuss the project. The BBC News interview even aired on Christmas morning, spreading the message of our project to an even wider audience.
Overall, working on "Sign of the Season" was a deeply rewarding experience. It was an honor to work with such a talented and passionate team, and to use dance and sign language to raise funds and awareness for such a worthy cause.
